Resolved Question: Adults ADHD and depression?

My best friend has ADHD, he sometimes became very depressed …. he stayed at home in a few days, sometimes weeks. I know that ADHD and depression are connected, but I do not know how. I should have left him, until he was in his interesting things back to their places or things I should be there.
